A group from Galloway’s joined the audience of Countdown, one of the longest running and most popular TV game shows.
Almost 30 blind and visually impaired people joined the filming in the TV studios in Media City in Salford Quays, near Manchester.
Countdown was the first programme to be aired on Channel 4 on 2 November 1982 and from Leeds, it moved to Manchester and its present home in 2013.
“It was a really lovely and interesting day to see how the programme is put together said Lizzy from Chorley
“I enjoyed the experience” said Margaret from Preston.
“I’d always wanted to go” said Paul from Leyland, “I’m a huge fan and try to follow the program when at home”.
Jenny Lloyd, Head of Services for Galloway’s said “ We thought the Countdown experience would be a little different and it was. We are grateful for the support from the team at C4 for their kindness and to Rachel Riley for being such a good sport and taking time to chat to our group.”
