Back in January, Preston City Council approved plans for the proposed UCLan development subject to certain conditions. These conditions included things that we fought long and hard for, such as controlled crossing points; recognising the challenges that blind and partially sighted people face when navigating through a shared space scheme.
The project team, in association with Lancashire County Council Highway Department have now completed their revisions and would like to invite you to a consultation workshop. The purpose of this will be to present and explain the proposed changes to the original scheme and obtain feedback from people affected by the scheme regarding the suitability of the proposed solutions.
The presentation will include design drawings, a tactile model, samples of materials to be used and simulations of how the traffic arrangements will operate.
The workshop will take place on Thursday 24th May from 2pm to 4pm in the Scholars Restaurant, Foster Building, Preston, PR1 2HE.
If you would like to attend, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01772 744148. We will also be providing transport but only have limited availability. Disabled parking spaces and a safe drop off zone can be found at the rear of the Foster building, which can be accessed from Leighton Street. Should you require a parkin space or specific access or assisstance for the workshop such as a BSL interpreter then please email email@example.com with your requirement.
