Galloway’s Community Choir began in 2001 with a few people singing around a piano. After a project with the Halle Orchestra our Musical Director, Jeff Borradaile took over the running of the Choir and since then we have gone from strength to strength, both in numbers and the quality of our singing.
We are actually two choirs which come together for various concerts and workshops, one is based at Howick House in Penwortham and the other at Galloway’s in Morecambe. We practise on Monday mornings from 9.30am to 11.45am at Penwortham and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Morecambe. We also have a ladies only choir which meet once a month on Saturdays between 10.00 am – 2.00 pm at Penwortham. This is a relatively new group but we are improving each week!
Galloway’s Choir is looking for new recruits, you don’t have to be Charlotte Church or Michael Ball. There are no auditions and no need to read music. We welcome all voices and just ask people to come along and enjoy themselves. If you have often thought about joining a choir come and give it a try - we can guarantee you will love it.
