We’ve heard from Cedric this morning that there is no way he is going to be able to find a safe crossing, the volume of water in the Bay is too great.
Once again we’re gutted as this is the second time we’ve had to cancel it this year and it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year.
If you would like to donate your sign-up fee it would be really gratefully received – we have already had to outlay a lot of the costs upfront, but of course we do understand people will be disappointed and are able to make refunds if they wish. Please be patient with us as refunds will not be able to be made on the spot. Our priority is letting people know it’s not going ahead.
Stuart Clayton, Chief Executive of Galloway’s said “We are absolutley gutted to be in this position again, I really didn’t think that lightning could stricke twice. This is only the second occasion it has had to be cancelled in those 25 years. The whole team who have worked so hard to organise the re-scheduled walk are devastated. In this, our 150th Birthday year, we had high hopes for the Bay Crossing Walk. It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year and it not taking place leaves us with a massive hole to fill, somewhere in the region of £20,000” If you would like to make a donation to help us recover some of the lost revenue, please visit our special appeal page and donate online by clicking here
If you want a refund, please contact us on 01772 744148 and we will process it a soon as possible
Thanks for your understanding and support
