Getting you Online!
Technology is such an important part of today’s society. We know that assistive technology can make life easier when you have a visual impairment, but knowing where to start isn’t always easy.
That’s why we are here to help! Galloway’s together with other partners are helping people with sight loss gain the basic skills and confidence to use technology such as smart phones and tablets and get online.
How we can help
We’re providing support in lots of ways, from advice and group sessions, to workshops and events. After talking through your needs, our team will be on hand to give you support and advice, which could include things like
- Showing you how to use your tablet or e-reader such as an iPad and Kindle
- Support with setting up and using your iPhone or other smartphone
- Showing you how to browse websites and explore online
- Setting up your email account
- Helping you to chat online using Skype
- Opportunities to try out some of these products and find out what suits you best
- Making the most of features such as apps
