The Society strongly believes in taking it's services and support out into the local community directly to visually impaired people. It is for this reason that we employ two Development Officers. Tony Kimpton is based in Morecambe and covers the North Lancashire areas, whilst Christine Crankshaw is based in Chorley and looks after the South and West Lancashire areas.

Tony produces a quarterly newsletter in addition to several local information sheets:

All visually impaired people within our area can access our talking newspaper services, outdoor activities, holidays, training and the other services you have seen elsewhere on our website but extra activities of particular interest to people living in the above areas are organised by Tony and Christine.

They are also available as a point of contact for advice and support and to speak out on any specific local issues which may be affecting visually impaired people locally.
