An Information Day at Howick House |
If you've been registered at the hospital as partially sighted or blind, it is unlikely that you will know what help is available or where and how to get help. Our Information Days are to introduce you to the society and advise you of the help and support available through the society.
You will be invited to attend an information day. The days are held monthly either at Howick House, Chorley or Morecambe according to demand.
Information days have been developed to advise you of the help available and to try to answer your questions, for example:
"What Happens Next"?
"What Did the Doctor Say"?
"How will I continue to cook, clean, get about and, care for myself"?
"What does Registration mean"?
"How can I get out and About alone"?
"Am I entitled to A Parking Badge"?
We give general support and advise of the services available locally and nationally. You can also hear of the help and services available from Galloway's and how to obtain them, these include:
Talking Newspapers, Talking Book Library, Audio Described videos, Around the House, Games and Puzzles, the L.V.A.Scheme, Magnifiers, our Social Groups, Adult Education, Computer Training, Educational Taster Days, Day Trips, Holidays, Counselling Service, Home Visiting and Outdoor Pursuits
