A day of fun, community, and business support...

Updated: Jul 11

We are thrilled to share the success of our recent 'It's a Knockout' event, held on the grounds of our Head Office on Sunday 7th July. The day was complete with excitement, laughter, and a strong sense of community as local businesses came together to support a great cause.

Teams from Xeinadin, Birchall Blackburn, BNI Brunch, McDonald's, and our own Galloways team competed in a series of fun and challenging activities on giant inflatables, braving very wet weather.

"It was a really good event; despite the initial gloomy weather, everyone came together to make it competitive but fun! It was a great bonding exercise for our newly-merged Xeinadin Preston office. Still, most importantly, it was an enjoyable way to raise much-needed funds for Galloways," said Director Waseem Yasin.

"The event was a fantastic showcase of our community's spirit. The enthusiasm and participation from everyone made it an unforgettable day. The funds raised will support local people with sight loss, allowing us to continue providing essential services." Kelly Love, Corporate Engagement Lead at Galloways.

We were incredibly proud of the Galloways team members, many living with sight loss, who participated in the event. Their determination and enthusiasm were inspiring, demonstrating that sight loss doesn't have to stop you from participating in and enjoying events.

Louise Coleman shared, "I was on a team with many registered blind people, and while the challenges were tough, we had so much fun. The energy was amazing, and it was great to see everyone supporting each other. The event was inclusive, making sure everyone could join in. What really made the day special was the sense of community. Seeing my team's joy and confidence grow throughout the day was incredible. Huge thanks to Galloways for putting on such a fantastic event. It was a memorable experience, and I can’t wait for the next one.

"The atmosphere, filled with laughter and camaraderie, showcased the power of our community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, and cheered on the teams," said Michelle Hawley Galloways Community & Events Coordinator,

Together, we can continue to support local people living with sight loss. For more information, please email for Corporate enquiries or contact Michelle for Community and Events support.
