The Galloway's Grotto

A little seasonal magic is returning to a Preston shopping centre this year, as the Galloway’s Grotto is back.

Sight loss charity Galloway’s is teaming up with St George’s Shopping Centre to provide their annual festive grotto in Preston’s city centre.

Visitors will be able to meet Father Christmas in return for a donation to Galloway’s every weekend from Saturday, November 27th, and then every day from Monday, December 20th until Christmas Eve.

The special gift wrapping counter will be open on December 11th and 12th and then every day from Tuesday, December 14th until Christmas Eve.

Charlotte Carnell, Events Coordinator at Galloway’s, said: “We are thrilled to be able to spread some Christmas joy to families again after the pandemic meant we couldn’t open last year.

“Our grotto in 2019 raised £11,700 and we are hoping Preston shoppers will once again support Galloway’s by visiting us whilst doing their Christmas shopping in St George’s. You can get your photo taken with Father Christmas in his grotto. We can also help you with your wrapping, so come along and get those all-important present wrapped! All donations are greatly appreciated.

“It really does make a difference to thousands of people living with sight loss across Lancashire and Sefton, so please come and see us.

“We are so grateful to everyone at St George’s who have given us so much support with our grotto and helped us to raise thousands over the years.”

Andrew Stringer, Centre Manager at St George’s Shopping Centre, added: “It is great news that we are able to reopen the grotto this year for families to enjoy, as it is such a popular feature at this time of year. Galloway’s is a wonderful charity so why not combine your Christmas shopping with a visit to Santa, or you can take advantage of their gift wrapping service?”

If anyone would like get involved and volunteer at St George’s Shopping Centre, email or call 01772 744148.

Head men's basketball coach Mike decided to initiate a group chat so they can stay in contact with each other and lean on each other for support in not only sports by life. "There was a lot of stuff going on this summer, and the truth is we needed each other," Boynton said. "One of the things I wanted to do was let those know I would be there to support them and their teams however I could."Other coaches agreed."We were all going through somethin…
