We know that many of you will be worried about the recent outbreak of the coronavirus and we want to reassure you that we are taking all steps to protect everyone who uses our services, works or volunteers with us.

Following the latest Government guidance, which was issued late yesterday (Monday), we have taken the difficult decision to ask all our staff to work from home for the time being, meaning all our buildings and services will be closed today (Tuesday 17th March).

We have also decided to suspend all our group activities for the next four weeks. This means that, until further notice our social groups, Get Active sessions and tech drop in sessions at Penwortham, Chorley, Southport and Morecambe will be temporarily on hold. We have already been in contact with anyone who was booked onto these activities. If you haven’t yet been contacted, please get in touch.

Whilst we recognise the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and supporters is absolutely paramount, we are mindful of the most vulnerable people in our community. This is why we are working hard to find new and innovative ways to provide support, advice and

guidance for those who may have little or no support.

We will continue to update all our social media and other communication channels to keep you informed.

We will continue to provide support over the phone and online through our Facebook pages.

Each centre also has its own Facebook group which we invite you to join to get the latest information about our services and support.

We also take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers for their continued support and we will keep you informed when activity resumes.

Best wishes, your team at Galloway’s
