Thanks to Doris

Galloway's has just had news that our late friend and supporter Doris Sutcliffe has generously left us a gift of £1,000 in her will - we are so touched and very grateful to be remembered in this way. Legacies are essential to the ongoing work of Galloway's meetng the cost of major items which we're unable to fund out of our day to day income. If you would like to leave Galloway's a gift in your will, please contact Peter Taylor at Howick House on 01772 753700 or email peter.taylor@galloways.org.uk, all matters will be treated in the utmost confidence

Galloway's Southport

Our new base at Southport is up and runnng, the change over from the Southport Blind Aid Society went smoothy, thanks very much to Laurence Paton and the former Trustees of the Society who have been so accommodating and positive. Kevin Lonergan is presently based at Southport Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and can be contacted on 01704 534555. The IT room at Southport has just been upgraded thanks to a very generous legacy left to the Society in March, it is hoped to provide IT training in the near future and to operate an Internet Cafe where anyone with a sight loss can call in and use the equipment. The range of equipment on display and available to purchase at Southport has also been extended, if you are thinking of calling in, please ring before hand to ensure that Kevin, or other colleagues will be there to attend to you. Since merging with the Southport Society the number of visually impaired people we are in touch with has increased to just over 7000

Chorley Building Society

The Chorley Building Society support Galloway's 365 days of the year by running the Galloway's affinity account - you get the same rate for your savings but the Society donate 1% of the average balance of all the accounts to Galloway's, this scheme resulted in a donation to us in March of £1400. You may have also noticed that the partnership between Galloway's and The Chorley Building Society is so successful we even share the same Mascot 'Foxley' he's very popular with children of all ages and whenever he's about he's promoting both our organisations. Follow this link for further information about the Affinity Account, call Stuart Eastwood at Galloway's on 01772 753700, or pop along to any of the branches in Chorley or Leyland, the staff are so friendly and helpful and really positive about Galloway's work.

We're about halfway through changing over our audio services from tape to memory stick and CDs. The switch is taking longer than expected mainly due to the size of the task involved and the time taken to supply our many listeners with the new equipment Digital Audio Appeal
