Join the team!

As a charity, we rely on support from members of the public to continue our work across Lancashire and Sefton. Our staff and volunteers are the backbone of the organisation.  We are a small but dedicated team of individuals, each with our own part to play in the continued success of the organisation.

Our staff are well trained and experienced professionals who work hard to ensure the charity delivers key services for those living with sight loss.  Our volunteers are essential to us, they currently contribute around 50,000 hours to us every year.  With many differing roles, requiring different skills and experience, we are always looking for new volunteers to get involved!

Come and work with us!

Volunteer Roles

Our incredible team of volunteers support everything we do at Galloway’s, from gardening and painting to fundraising and administration. We couldn’t do our work without the help of people like you – and we know that together, we really improve the lives of children and adults with sight loss. Volunteering is also a great way to meet new people and gain valuable work experience, developing new skills and confidence; in many instances we will provide you with a reference if required.

At the moment we are particularly in need of:

  • Minibus Drivers in the Morecambe Area
  • People who can help in the delivery of our Assistive Technology courses, helping those with sight loss use IT to assist in their daily living
  • People who can help at our Tuesday Drop-In service at Penwortham, Preston

For more information about becoming a Galloway’s volunteer, please call 01772 744148 or email enquiries@galloways.org.uk
