UPDATE:
Following new government restrictions, from Wednesday, October 14, groups are restricted to a maximum of six and must be from the same household or support bubble.
Brew Me Sunshine, a social enterprise cafe supporting sight loss charity Galloway’s, is now open to the public.
After being closed for 25 weeks due to lockdown restrictions, the coffee shop, in Victoria Street, Morecambe, re-opened on Monday, September 7th, with a new layout and added safety features.
Staff have extended the cafe space into a portion of the back of the building in order to accommodate more customers, whilst keeping to social distancing guidelines.
Returning regulars can expect the same great selection of cakes and hot drinks, with the added option of being able to order at their table using the Round App. The app, which is not compulsory, is free to download and easy to use, making the Brew Me Sunshine menu available to those not wishing to queue.
Groups that previously used the back rooms and the cafe space are advised to make contact with staff via the Facebook page or email joseph.gardiner@galloways.org.uk to discuss how current social distancing guidelines might be best adhered to for any indoor occasions.
Cafe manager Joseph Gardiner said: “The team at Brew Me Sunshine cannot wait to get back to making coffees and serving tasty treats to our wonderful customers.
“Whilst we’ve been getting the space ready to reopen safely, we’ve had plenty of familiar faces pop by to say how much they miss the relaxed atmosphere and the smell of the coffee.
“It has been a strange time for everyone, so we’re hoping that the cafe reopening will be a welcome return to a bit of normality for our regulars.
“Safety is of course a top priority, so the team will be working hard to keep a high standard of cleanliness and to keep things running smoothly.
“We look forward to inviting everyone back and hope people will bear with us through the measures that we’ve put in place to keep everyone safe in the building.”
Brew Me Sunshine will be open Monday to Saturday, 10am until 4pm.
